Back From Haiti

Robert asked if I wanted to share about my trip to Haiti.  I really would like to do that but I am finding it hard to actually articulate what it was like meeting Frankie as our son for the first time.  The best things to do is probably direct you to my personal blog in case you want to catch a few posts that I wrote while in Haiti.  And if not, I think that the above picture probably says it all.  Dave and I are so blessed to be on this journey.  I’ll leave you with a few of my thoughts that I had on the day I had to say goodbye…. ”

“I got home safe today and enjoyed the evening with my family.  I’m so tired… emotionally and physically……  maybe soon I’ll be able to talk about the ugh factor that has hold of my heart…. or maybe not.

No one ever said this journey was going to be easy.  It’s such a hard road to walk.  But once again I will say and say it till Frankie makes his way to our family here…..  It’s ALL worth it.  The Hope we Have will remain, the Faith we Have will keep us moving, and the Love we Have and Feel for Frankie our son will continue to grow even as we are apart.

Thanks for all of you who prayed for me while I was in Haiti and followed my journey there.  It really was a trip I will never forget.”

  1. What an amazing thing your family is doing. Thank you for sharing. We are in the process of adopting from Korea and my wife loves reading stories of other families adopting so I made sure to share this with her.

Looking forward to seeing more pics when Frankie is finally home.
