PowerPlant site visit

On Tuesday, I got the opportunity to make another site visit to see camp curriculum we created in action. This time, I visited PowerPlant camp in Greenville. PowerPlant is the North American Mission Board’s summer camp for students that focuses on church planting. Students get training in church planting and in evangelism in the mornings, and then in the afternoons they join local church planters and do projects that allow them to practice what they’ve learned. Wayfarer created the evangelism training portion of the curriculum this year for the first time.

Greenville is one of 20 PowerPlant sites this summer. The project coordinator for the upstate version of PowerPlant is a friend of ours named Jonathan Everette, who is also in charge of a plant in Spartanburg called Hub City Church. Jonathan is also teaching the church planting training.

You can check out what’s been going on with PowerPlant in Greenville and Spartanburg here. It was great to get a taste of how the curriculum we created is empowering students across North America to have conversations that point people toward regeneration.
